Windfall: Australian Haiku Issue 7

A reminder to Australian haiku poets that submissions to Windfall: Australian Haiku Issue 7 will be open throughout July 2018.  Please send up to six haiku relevant to the experience of urban and rural life in Australia. Observations that celebrate landform, seasons, and our unique flora and fauna, are welcome.

AHS Winter Solstice Haiku String 2018

Welcome to The Australian Haiku Society Haiku String for  the day of the Southern Hemisphere Winter Solstice

We will keep the String open for contributions for three days to accommodate international poets who may wish to take part.

We welcome contributions from haiku poets worldwide.

White Pebbles Winter Haiku Meeting June 16th 2018

It was a lively meeting at Gosford/ Edogawa Gardens and Regional Gallery and one which has sparked warm responses from those who attended. Present were Samantha Hyde, Marilyn Humbert, Kent Robinson, Gail Hennessy, Wendy Stringer, Maire Glacken, Verna Rieschild, Colleen Keating, Beverley George and our newest member, Gwen Bitti. Anne Birt and Rozanne Collins were unable to attend and were missed. We hope to see them in September. Membership is capped at twelve people but of course we will welcome visitors from time to time. Announcement: Forthcoming AHS Winter Solstice Haiku String 2018

The Australian Haiku Society welcomes contributions from haiku poets worldwide to the AHS Winter Solstice Haiku String 2018.

We will be holding a Haiku String during the day of the Southern Hemisphere Winter Solstice, which occurs in Australia on Thursday 21st June, 2018. The String will remain open for contributions until Saturday 23rd June to accommodate international poets who may wish to take part. HAIKU @ THE OAKS, CANBERRA

Tuesday 12 June 2018

A wintery day in Canberra meant little custom for The Oaks Brasserie. Hence we enjoyed the quiet yet cosy atmosphere of this outdoor venue’s marquee, with a heater to ourselves plus the personalised service of friendly owners. Through the transparent walls we glimpsed a few final leaf-drifts and the comings and goings of pale sunbursts. What more could a group of haiku enthusiasts ask for?
