We are excited to announce that the second Haiku Down Under conference will take place online via Zoom from Friday to Sunday August 16-18, 2024. Our theme for 2024 is A Sensory Journey.
Haiku Down Under 2024 – A Sensory Journey is an initiative to connect writers, primarily from New Zealand and Australia, through workshops, presentations, writing sessions and readings. Our aim is to celebrate our seasons, peoples and cultures, landscapes and seascapes, vernacular language, and flora and fauna.
Please put the dates 16-18 August, 2024 in your diary and stay tuned for further details, which will be released on the Haiku Down Under website over coming weeks and months. We’ll also be sharing details on our Facebook page. Subscribe to our email list via the Contact Us page to be automatically notified of key updates.
In September we will be opening the call for proposals for workshops, presentations and other activities that engage with the conference theme of A Sensory Journey. Australian and New Zealand haiku poets will be invited to submit ideas for activities they’d like to present or facilitate.
Who are we? Six haiku poets who want to share our passions: Leanne Mumford, Sue Courtney, Carole Harrison, Carol Reynolds, Maureen Sexton and Jason Richardson.
