The United Haiku and Tanka Society is launching a new online journal for Sedōka poetry, Songbirds Sedōka Journal. Submissions are open from 1 November 2023 until 1 December 2023.
Sedōka is an authentic but uncommon Japanese poetry genre from the 8th century. It consists of 2 tercets (three line verses) in a question-response format. The verses can be based on either tanka or haiku forms. Please visit the UHTS website for further information about the form and the submission guidelines further down the page.
