Now available online, December 2024
Readers are welcome to enjoy the third edition of Catchment – Poetry of Place, available now on the Baw Baw Arts Alliance website via Latest Edition.
Edition 3 features tanka from 30 or so poets, along with lengthier poems by just under 60 contributors (with some writers making submissions in both genres).
From Kurnai country, in the West Gippsland region of south-eastern Victoria, the editorial team for Catchment continues to be proud to present new work in a variety of verse forms, focussing on place in different traditions/ contexts/ moods.
While our team is too small to accept contributions from overseas, our third issue includes further poetry inspired by international locations, while primarily holding up a lens to places scattered across most Australian states and territories.
We remain committed to supporting writers at an earlier stage along their tanka path, in keeping with discussion about mentorship during Haiku Down Under 2024.
We likewise feel proud to give opportunities to more seasoned practitioners, including those offering tanka strings, since journals accepting English-language sequences in this Japanese verse-form have become fewer, both in this country and beyond.
