A big thank you goes out to all AHS members who have already offered contributions to the fourth edition of Catchment – Poetry of Place!
With submissions set to close on 21st May 2025, other Australian poets are encouraged to send in new work which shows a sense of location.
Across the next few weeks, contributors are welcome to access guidelines provided on the Baw Baw Arts Alliance website, before using the submission portal located there.
You can offer up to five (5) stand-alone tanka, or a tanka string comprised by four (4) pieces: the chance to submit sequences in Japanese-based verse forms seems to have decreased, so we hope contributors will take up this opportunity!
A 50 word bio statement will also be required.
If you visit our online journal – through the Baw Baw Arts Alliance website – under CatchmentNews & Views, you will find a new essay by co-editor Jo McInerney on tanka as poetry of place, exploring link-and-shift.
With them all having given support towards Jo’s powerful evaluation, our deepest appreciation goes to Lynette Arden, Gavin Austin, Dawn Bruce and Beverley George!
