Catchment – Poetry of Place 5; submissions open until 21st November

Catchment- Poetry of Place will remain open for contributions until 21st November, towards release of the journal’s 5th issue on 21st December 2025.

Guidelines can be accessed here.
 
Australian poets working in Japanese-based forms can offer either: up to 5 tanka of a stand-alone nature; or a string/ sequence of pieces, no larger than four (4) tanka in total.
Contributors may also submit up to three (3) poems in free verse, each as long as 30 lines.
 
A biographical statement (no more than 50 words) should also be submitted.
 
Under Catchment News & Views, essays are being released each month to show appreciation for noteworthy poetry of place: tanka co-editor Jo McInerney has written this response to a sequence by Carmel Summers,
 
AHS members may also have seen the following report by Rob Scott – from a recent meeting of the Fringe Myrtles Haiku Group, focussed on tanka – which refers to Catchment.

Australian tanka poets are strongly encouraged to offer new work to Catchment 5 this month!
