Over coming months, the Australian Haiku Society will host online haiku readings by interested poets, from one state or territory at a time. The formal reading segment will be followed by an opportunity for informal discussion with the aim of fostering connections between poets. While poets from a particular state or territory will be reading, there will be no geographic restriction for the audience. Registrations will be required to obtain the Zoom link, however.
First up, we invite haiku poets from Queensland to register interest. The exact date, time and format of the reading will be determined through consultation with the poets who register. We are hoping to host the Queensland poets’ reading in April 2026. If you are a Queensland-based haiku poet who would like to read a sample of your poems at an online meeting, please use the Contact Secretary form to register your interest by Monday 2nd March. Please include a sample of up to five of your haiku/senryu when you register.
