Illawong Haiku Group Summer Meeting

Due to an unfavourable weather forecast, Ros Pitt, Pat Meredith, Rita Potente, Kathleen Ann, Alison Miller and Margaret Mahony met at Margaret’s home in Sutherland, with apologies from Carol Reynolds, who was unwell.

Our convenor Carol suggested we distribute a group newsletter seasonally. This will include members’ news, haiku news, haiku to share, haiku prompts, etc. We spent some time discussing this before we went on to an exercise in editing. Eight haiku had been chosen for discussion.

We were distracted for a while when a baby magpie appeared in my courtyard and spent some time preening himself unaware of his audience.

After lunch several members shared writings of their own. An enjoyable day was had by all.
