The winter meeting of the Red Dragonflies was held on Saturday 2nd June, 11.30am-2.30pm at Dawn Bruce’s home in St Leonards. Vanessa Proctor led members Dawn Bruce, Barbara Fisher, Beverley George and Cynthia Rowe in a series of stimulating exercises. Willem Tibben, our sixth member, was unable to attend. We missed him but look forward to seeing him at our spring meeting.
Vanessa can always be relied upon to provide interesting and often challenging topics for haiku. This winter’s ranged from writing a wordy plus a minimalist version on the same theme to reflections prompted by the recent royal wedding and an acknowledgement of World Bicycle Day. Anonymous contributions of two poems per person to the haiku bowl provoked the usual interest and amusement.
A most enjoyable meeting.
