Four members were present at our Winter meeting held once again in the café at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Arts Centre at Gymea. We opted to postpone our plans to head to the city until Spring when the weather will be more favourable for an outdoor ginko. After two indoor meetings we will be ready to break out and seek further inspiration for our writing.

When we first arrived at ‘coffee hour’ it was very noisy so we adjusted our meeting schedule and once the rush hour was over we moved to a quieter corner position and carried on.
Patricia and Ros brought some newly written haiku and Margaret and Carol offered suggestions for improvement and encouraged them, as new writers, to keep referring to the basic haiku rules for guidance. Publications are regularly circulated within the group to encourage wider haiku reading.
As an exercise the group chose a haiku from a short list to submit for a Featured Haiku Commentary on completion. Ideas were noted and Margaret is going to put it together.
We all stayed on for a light lunch followed by a brief visit to view the current gallery exhibition then we headed for home discussing the possibility of having some additional impromptu gatherings. Four times a year is simply not enough!
