  1. frosty morning
    greets me around the corner
    the scent of bakery

    new neighbors
    first time in my life
    I try wasabi

    winter holidays
    all school bus smells –
    grandma’s apple pie

  2. stringing tomatoes
    summer’s fruit hangs on
    to mid-winter

    coffee smile
    the northerly sun enters
    unannounced

    lamb shank
    fireside
    the bone and I

  3. winter drive
    to pick apples
    childhood memory

    winter warmth
    minestrone soup served with
    home-made bread
