低くとぶ子鳥よ空が重たいか

low flying fledgling –
is the sky too heavy
for you?

広島忌千羽鶴胴突きぬかれ

Hiroshima memorial —
thousands of paper cranes
pierced by strings

紅格子越しのおぼろ夜脂粉の香

red lattice screen
on a hazy night –
fragrance of cosmetics
