Paperbark Haiku Autumn Zoom Meeting

Djeran noongar season
Friday 30th April, 1 pm
(Australian Western Standard Time for Perth, Western Australia)

Please have some haiku to share during the meeting and be prepared to key the haiku into the comments box when requested, so everyone can see as well hear the haiku. They can be haiku you wrote at our Ginko at Adachi Park, or haiku you wrote on your own ginko, in your own time, preferably between 24th and 30th April.

Paperbark Haiku Autumn Ginko

Currently it’s Djeran Season in Noongar seasons. Djeran is a season of adulthood. April-May. Ant season

We will meet next to the car park. Please bring with you a notebook and pen, some water and something to eat and drink if you wish. It may be a good idea to have a folding chair with you, in case the picnic tables and chairs are taken. We will have a short meeting, then head off on our ginko (haiku walk) before we meet up again to share our haiku and observations.

Haiku @ The Oaks, Canberra

The autumn sun held a hint of chill as we gathered for our monthly chinwag at The Oaks. Around us the seasonal colours were gently on the change. We were all present this time: Kathy Kituai, Glenys Ferguson, Hazel Hall, Gregory Piko, Marietta McGregor and Jan Dobb. Also present was visitor Sue, a house guest of Jan, who was curious to experience some close-up haiku.

Autumn Equinox Haiku String

The recent AHS Autumn Equinox Haiku String attracted a record number of contributions of which we are most grateful. As usual, haiku came from near and far around the globe, including our first offering from China-which is fantastic. If you wish you can revisit the Haiku String here.

Illawong Haiku Group Autumn Meeting Report

It is with pleasure that I am able to report on our Autumn gathering since the December meeting went unreported due to various issues that prevented our normal modus operandi.

Fortunately, despite the current very unpredictable weather, we were able to gather on the balcony of Margaret’s home amid the very calming space she has created with her ever growing collection of potted greenery.

We had a full complement of members and were very happy to welcome a visitor, Rita Potente, who is new to haiku and we hope will join us for future meetings. Reversing our usual format we enjoyed haiku readings from the haiku bowl while we enjoyed morning tea and some of Margaret’s freshly made carrot cake, then it was down to business.
