Paperbark Haiku Spring Ginko

The Spring ginko, organised by Paperbark Haiku, was held on 15th October 2024, with a return visit to the Botanic Gardens at Kings Park in Perth. It was a glorious day, the weather sunny and warm, the views over Perth waters and the high rise of the city making a spectacular backdrop. It was a perfect setting for discussing and writing haiku. The Spring flowers, the towering trees and the memorials of Remembrance all gave the poets plenty of opportunity for inspiration.

Report on the Bindii Meeting September 29 2024

Julia Wakefield, Maeve Archibald, Steve Wigg, Subha Goonaratne, Ewan Rourke and Lynette Arden met on Saturday September 27 at 3pm, using Zoom. Apologies were received from Maureen Sexton and Kirsten Johnson.

We workshopped our haiku and a few tanka. We also discussed the Kyoka poetry form.

Results of the AHS 2024 Spring Solstice Haiga Kukai: Non-Seasonal

The Australian Haiku Society would like to congratulate all the winners and thank everyone who participated in the 2024 Spring Solstice Haiku Kukai. This year’s judge, Olivia Ark, who was also responsible for creating the stunning images for the kukai, was impressed with the quality of the entries, which came in from all parts of the globe.
