old horses
endless days of rain
in their eyes

This haiku received 25 nominations, totalling 188 points.

Ron C. Moss also won the Grand Prize for the largest total number of points awarded to any poet for a body of work represented in Volume 16 of The Heron’s Nest.

Meanwhile, it has been a very noteworthy week in haiku for Ron C. Moss in other ways too.

On Friday evening (February 20), the successful launch of his new haiku collection “The Bone Carver” was very well attended down in Hobart, with nearly 60 people present.

“There was plenty of haiku reading”, as Ron himself has noted in thanks, with former AHS President Beverley George giving a “wonderful speech.”
