In the lead up to the Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival at Auburn Botanic Gardens, the Australian Haiku Society is running a haiku contest with the theme of ‘Spring Flowers’. We invite Australian poets to submit one haiku on this theme using the form below. Submissions closed at 5pm AEST on Monday 17th August.
By entering the contest, entrants agree to grant nonexclusive permission to the Australian Haiku Society to publish their winning haiku on our website and to republish it in any future online collections on the Australian Haiku Society website.
Copyright of each haiku remains with the author.
Enter one haiku only. Your haiku may not have been published previously in print or online, including in discussion forums. The poem must relate to the theme of ‘spring flowers’ in some way.
No correspondence will be entered into regarding winning entries.
Submissions have now closed.

Results will be announced during the Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival on Monday 24th August at a haiku event commencing at 10am on the Sakura Stage. Winners will be notified and the results will subsequently be published on our website.
