The editors – Lyn Reeves, Beverley George and Rob Scott – are seeking up to five of your best haiku or senryu, which may be unpublished or previously published. The Australian Haiku Society is proud to announce the 2nd running of the John Bird Dreaming Award for Haiku. The award is a biannual international haiku competition open to poets from all over the world.
The Annual HSA Renku Award for 2022 in memorial of Bernard Lionel Einbond is still open until October 31.

Welcome to the annual celebration of Australian footy and haiku!
Calling all haiku poets and other vagabonds from every nook and cranny on the planet to participate in the Annual AFL Grand Final Haiku Kukai for 2022. This is the one day of the year when haiku poets, expert and novice, turn their Zen minds to the rip-roaring, white-knuckle, roller-coaster experience of a footy match to produce a live haiku call of the AFL Grand Final. The game kicks off on Saturday 24th September at 2.30pm AEST, but you can share your haiku anytime prior to the game.
The Australian Haiku Society is excited to announce a call for submissions for the Fourth Australian Haiku Anthology (4AHA) that will showcase the work of poets who are writing haiku in this country today.

During September you are invited to submit your haibun to The United Haiku and Tanka Society (UHTS) 2022 Samurai Haibun Contest. This is a yearly contest celebrating the Autumn Festival traditional procession of Samurai at the Nikko Toshogu shrine every 17th October.
Deadline: submissions open from 1 September to 30 September 2022 only.
