Registrations Closing Soon for Haiku Down Under 2024
Registrations for Haiku Down Under are free and close on August 11.
The Haiku Down Under weekend, taking place online via Zoom from Friday to Sunday, August 16-18, will provide a unique occasion to explore haiku and related forms in depth, and to connect with fellow haiku poets in Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
Writing Haiku – workshop this weekend!
As part of the Melbourne Spoken Word Festival, Myron Lysenko will be leading a haiku workshop on Sunday 14th July.
Myron has been teaching contemporary haiku since the end of the twentieth century. He will show examples of haiku and will teach you how to compose haiku and how to use specific techniques to achieve this. If you are in Melbourne this weekend take the opportunity to learn more about the art and craft of contemporary haiku.

Marking the Moment – workshop
Capture and record a moment from nature through haiku and mark making to create a visual expression of a sensory experience. Join poet Lyn Reeves and local artist Desiree Fitzgibbon for walking and observation in the stunning environment of Okines Beach.
