Preliminary Notice: AHS Autumn Equinox Haiku String 2023

The Australian Haiku Society welcomes contributions from haiku poets worldwide to the Autumn Equinox Haiku String.

We will be holding the Haiku String during the day of the Southern Hemisphere Autumn Equinox, which occurs in Australia this year on Tuesday 21st March 2023. The String will remain open for contributions until Wednesday 30th March to accommodate international poets who may wish to take part. Contributions may be made on the website during these dates only (not before).

White Pebbles Haiku Group Autumn Meeting Report

March 11th 2023

As soon as we met up for this meeting we knew it was going to be a very special one indeed. The sun was gently shining and all the diverse shades of green in the garden were sparkling. Soon we were off for our ginko and silent jotting.  Smiles across the ponds and along the pathways.

Haiku @ The Oaks, Canberra

A beautiful day with a slight hint of autumn in the air. Just the day to greet poet friends for another gathering @ The Oaks. A chorus of currawongs was hailing our arrival—though perhaps with other things than poetry in mind! Five of us settled down to lunch beneath the trees—Kathy Kituai, Hazel Hall, Gregory Piko, Marietta McGregor and Jan Dobb. We missed Glenys Ferguson this time.
