Windfall: Australian Haiku – Submission Reminder
Windfall: Australian Haiku is a small annual print publication with fine examples of contemporary Australian haiku. As advised by manager, Peter Macrow when mailing Issue 9, 2021 to subscribers, issue 10 will be the final issue
Submissions to Windfall: Australian Haiku issue 10, the final issue, are welcome during July 2021.

Illawong Winter Meeting 2021
Illawong Haiku Group held their Winter meeting on Tuesday 15th June at the home of member Ros Pitt. While the weather was quite dreary outside it did not match the warm and congenial mood inside. It was lovely to welcome Rita back who we now consider a valuable member of our small but very enthusiastic group. We discussed the use of Imagery in Haiku based on a recent presentation by Joshua Gage featured on The Haiku Foundation website. Our Spring meeting will be a ginko when we will observe and gather inspiration to write haiku to each of the five types of imagery: Visual, Auditory, Tactile, Olfactory and Gustatory.

The Australian Haiku Society welcomes contributions from haiku poets worldwide to the Winter Solstice Haiku String.
We will be holding this Haiku String during the day of the Southern Hemisphere Winter Solstice, occurring in Australia this year on Monday, 21st June, 2021. The String will remain open for contributions until Monday 28th June to accommodate international poets who may wish to take part.

How fortunate we are to have a journal like Windfall: Australian Haiku, showcasing as it does, the best of Australian haiku— bringing together familiar and new voices (and the new voices are exciting). This issue, like those before it celebrates many and varied aspects of Australian life in its country, coastal, urban and domestic settings accompanied by a host of perceptive observations around season, landform, flora and fauna and the lives of people.

Preliminary Announcement: Winter Solstice Haiku String 2021
The Australian Haiku Society welcomes contributions from haiku poets worldwide to the Winter Solstice Haiku String.
We will be holding the Haiku String during the day of the Southern Hemisphere Winter Solstice, which occurs in Australia this year on Monday 21st June, 2021. The String will remain open for contributions until Monday 28th June to accommodate international poets who may wish to take part. Contributions may be made on the website during these dates only (not before).
