The Australian Haiku Society will be holding a Haiku String during the day of the Southern Hemisphere Winter Solstice, which occurs in Sydney NSW on Wednesday, 21 June 2017 at 2:24 pm AEST. We will keep the string open for contributions until Friday, 23 June at 2.24 pm AEST to accommodate international poets who may wish to take part. Nathan Sidney and Garry Eaton both have interesting and highly recommended commentaries on a haiku by Michelle Tennison on this week’s re:Virals 88 hosted by The Haiku Foundation.  As this week’s winner Garry Eaton selected one of Lorin Ford’s haiku for reflection and comment in next week’s upcoming re:Virals.

Announcement: Summer Solstice Haiku String

The Australian Haiku Society will be holding its first Haiku String during the day of the Summer Solstice, 21st December.

We invite haiku poets around the world to respond to the featured poem or any poem posted in the comment box.

You may enter as many times as you like.

Haiku posted must be original work by the poster.

Please include your name as you wish it to appear, as author of each of the haiku you post.

Entries open – 18th HIA Haiku Contest

Entries are welcomed for the Haiku International Association’s 18th Haiku Contest. Entry is free. Up to four (4) haiku may be offered. The deadline is 26 September, 2016 (with results to be announced on 4 December, 2016).
