The large beach-side studio of artists Jocelyn Maugham and Robin Norling at Patonga was the inspiring meeting-place for the Red Dragonflies in summer 2014. We were free not only to wander the galleries admiring the diversity of artwork, making notes, but also to climb the stairs to the giant studio, sidestepping buckets of paint and drip cloths, brushes soaking, easels and stools; a chaise longue for posing. Eight Bindii members met at the Box Factory for our last meeting for 2014. Members shared haiku, haibun and tanka on a seasonal theme, which they had brought. Some were by favourite writers and some had been composed by members. Members also presented work for general feedback.
A Hundred Gourds 4:1 released
With issue 4.1, A Hundred Gourds begins its fourth year of publishing haiku, tanka, renku, haiga and haibun along with essays, book reviews and features of interest. The 13th issue of A Hundred Gourds, a quarterly journal of haiku, haibun, haiga, tanka and renku poetry is now online.

Mari Warabiny Haiku Group 2014 Spring Ginko
On a sunny afternoon 8 haiku enthusiasts from the Mari Warabiny Haiku Group met at the Art Gallery of WA, in the vibrant Perth Cultural Centre, for a Spring ginko. The Art Gallery of WA provided the Manhattan Meeting Room where our Ginko leader (Shuzai) the esteemed haiku Poet, Maureen Sexton welcomed us. Maureen provided a handout and verbal instructions on how to conduct a Spring Ginko.
